Statement of Faith

1. The Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testament Scriptures as originally given by God are divinely inspired, inerrant, trustworthy and constitute the only supreme authority in all matters of doctrine and conduct.

(2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; John 10:35)

2. The Godhead

We believe there is one living and true God, separate from His creation, eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who are the same in essence and co-equal in power and glory.

(Exodus 20:3; Deuteronomy 6:4; 1 Corinthians 8:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

3. Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of Jesus Christ. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, substitutionary and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, ongoing work of mediation and personal return in power and glory. His substitutionary sacrifice is the sole ground of redemption from the penalty, power and guilt of sin.

(Luke 1:26-35; John 1:1; Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13)

4. The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who illuminates and indwells the believer and by whose regenerating power and ongoing work, every believer is enabled to live a holy life, witnessing and working for Jesus Christ.

(Acts 5:3-4; John 16:8-10; Romans 15:16, 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:13)

5. Creation

We believe in the direct creative acts of God as recorded in Genesis.

(Genesis 1, 2)

6. Satan

We believe in the personality of Satan, a fallen angel, who, with other angelic beings, rebelled against God and was cast out of heaven. Although he was defeated by Jesus Christ’s death on the cross and his final destiny is the lake of fire, he continues to be the archenemy of God, angels and humanity.

(Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:14-17; Ephesians 2:2; Revelation 12:10, 20:10)

7. Sin and Humanity

We believe Adam and Eve, the first humans, were created in the image of God. When Adam and Eve sinned, all humankind fell and incurred eternal separation and condemnation from God. As a consequence, all humans are inherently depraved and in need of salvation.

(Genesis 3:1-6; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:1; Romans 5:12-21)

8. Salvation

We believe in salvation from sin and justification before God, only by the grace of God, through faith alone in Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead. To be saved, sinners must be born again becoming new creations and receiving eternal life, the free gift of God.

(Romans 3:24; 5:1; Ephesians 2:18; l Peter 1:18, 19; 3:18)

9. The Church

We believe in the church universal consisting of all true believers. The church is locally expressed to glorify God, edify believers and evangelize lost humanity throughout the world.

(1 Timothy 3:1-13; Matthew 28:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9)

10. The Return of Jesus Christ

We believe in the personal, literal, physical, visible, imminent return of Jesus Christ to earth. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all humanity; believers unto the resurrection of eternal life and unbelievers to everlasting conscious suffering.

(Luke 24:36-43; Acts 1:3, 9; 2:33; Hebrews 7:25; John 14:3)
